Former USF Basketball Player: Neena Pacholke Dead at 27

A former college athlete has left the world of basketball.

Neena Pacholke, a former point guard for the women’s basketball team at the University of South Florida, passed away on August 27, according to a post her sister Kaitlynn Pacholke made on Instagram. The 27-year-old has been a Wisconsin morning anchor for News 9.

“I don’t have the words,” Kaitlynn wrote on Aug. 29. “How does anyone ever find the words for the worst day of their life?”

Kaitlynn says, “On Saturday, August 27th my world came crashing down in a way I never imagined possible. My baby sister is gone. My 27 year long best friend.”

Her death is being looked into by the Wausau Police Department and the Marathon County Medical Examiner’s Office, according to Captain Ben Graham of the Wausau Police Department.
